POLL: Is business slow for everyone?

I just couldn't wait to put a post in this spanking new section!

Business is very slow here, people would rather have gas than candles.

Yep, I know we are one of those who needs the gas more than other things, which I think is most of us. This really sucks big time!

I had a slow January, but since then it's really been crazy busy. This time of the year I try to get some stock ahead for the fall home parties, but haven't had a chance. I'm definately not complaining, but with my full time job, I'm getting pooped. Cool

Very slow for me also. In fact I can't remember it being this slow. Oh well, lots of time to just piddle about.

I will add it just got slow though in the last 2 weeks or so. Up till then had been busy. Guess the gas prices are really scaring everyone.

I've had a few wholesale orders and nice fundraisers which are keeping me busy. Orders "trickle" in. I am concerned with the price of wax and glassware....gas keeps going up.....YIKES!

I have cancelled all of my spring shows, but I am hearing other crafters saying the shows are pretty much no good so far!

Actually mine has been pretty good. But I am in a small area & people have to drive farther to get things. So sometimes buying local saves them time & money. Pat

I'm working on fall stuff for my wholesale show, and getting things made for the shops. wholesale orders aren't too bad right now. I know that some of my customers are having some very slow days at their shops, but alot of that is because of graduations, vacation, and of course gas prices.
I don't really do craft shows anymore, but there is 1 festival that I've done for the past 8 years that I'm considering giving up. Only because of cost & traveling.

It's been horrible here. It started at the end of April, which is typical for a seasonal business like mine, but it's EXTRA SLOW this year. The gas, food, natural gas, and other high price increases are killing us! I was always told, that even during the depression, folks continued to buy their candles, as it was a comfort thing, plus it put off some heat in the winter. All I can say is I can't wait for FALL! I've been hanging on by the skin of my teeth. And the raw material price increases are now starting to affect us. How can you recoup your costs, without increasing your prices? That's the question of the day! Thank GOD I sell Lampe Berger's, in addition to my line, or I'd be screwed! Let's pray for better times ahead!

Here we go... Orders, sales, FR's, and shows are all picking up!!!

Wha Hoo!!! ( I raised my prices and have not heard a word from repeat customers... I guess people are expecting it with everything)

Just wanted to spread some good news and good vibes. We are just finishing up a Fundraiser and the Group sold over $4,600.00! Surprised

Hard to believe we are in a recession!

So far *knock on wood* our fundraisers are coming almost double what they were last year. Wholesale on the other hand is slowwwwwwwwwwww. Internet sales are picking up. I think people are changing the way they shop, but I do believe they are starting to shop again.
